Loopital Academy

Software only helps if the people using it know what to do with it on a busy morning. Academy is how we close that gap: short, role-by-role training for the staff who run a facility on HMS7, and plain guidance for the families who use Loopital to find care, speak to a doctor and keep their records.

It is free, it comes with the platform, and it is organised around jobs rather than features. Find the path that matches what you do.

For hospital and clinic staff

HMS7, split the way a facility divides the work. Each path covers one job end to end, so nobody has to sit through training meant for somebody else.

Receptionists and records officers

Front desk and records

  • Register someone and give them a Loopital ID they keep for life
  • Find a patient already on the network instead of creating a duplicate
  • Start a visit and send the person to the right place
  • Appointments: booking, moving and no-shows
  • Take a payment at the counter and issue the receipt
Doctors, nurses and matrons

Doctors and clinicians

  • Open the visit in front of you and read the record that came with it
  • Record a consultation so the next clinician can use it
  • Prescribe, and see what the pharmacy actually dispensed
  • Order tests and read results as they come back
  • Refer to another facility on the network
Pharmacists and dispensary staff

Pharmacy

  • Pull up a prescription without retyping it
  • Check allergies before you dispense — the step that matters most
  • Record what was handed over and how it is to be taken
  • Take payment, and bill cover where the patient has it
Owners, administrators and finance

Administrators

  • Add staff and give each person only the job they do
  • Set what your facility offers and what it charges
  • HMO and insurance: eligibility, authorisation and claims
  • See the day's money, and who confirmed it
  • Message your patients

For individuals and families

Using Loopital itself. Written for people who may never have used a digital health service before, so it starts with what happens to your record and who can see it.

Patients and families

Emergencies and cover

  • Get emergency help, and what happens after you ask for it
  • Use your HMO cover at a facility on the network
  • Pay for care, and keep the receipt

Where this is today

Academy is in its first phase, and we would rather say so than oversell it. Right now it means quick-start guides and short walkthroughs for each path above, delivered as we bring a facility onto the network, plus someone to ask when a screen does not behave the way you expected.

Next comes structured courses and a certification a facility can show its patients and its partners. A track for government and partner organisations that oversee or integrate with the network is in development.

Start with your facility

If your hospital, clinic, pharmacy or laboratory is joining the network, training is part of onboarding. Register the organisation and we take your team through the paths that apply to them.

Questions people ask

What is Loopital Academy?

It is how we train the people who use Loopital: staff at hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and laboratories learning HMS7, and the families who use Loopital to find care, consult a doctor and keep their records.

Does it cost anything?

No. Training comes with the platform. Getting a facility confident on HMS7 is part of putting it on the network, not a separate product.

How long does it take to train a facility?

Each path is built around one job, so nobody sits through training written for somebody else's role. Most front-desk and pharmacy staff are working the same day; administrators take a little longer because they set the facility up.

Do you train people who are new to computers?

Yes, and we assume it. HMS7 is built to be learnable by somebody whose experience is a paper register and a phone, and the training starts there rather than from a list of features.

Is there a certificate?

Not yet. Structured courses and a certification for facilities are planned, so a hospital can show its staff are trained. Today the aim is simpler: that your team can do the day's work without help.

We are a government or partner organisation. Can you train our teams?

Talk to us. A track for partners who oversee or integrate with the network is in development, and we shape it around what a programme actually needs.
